Amazon Gift Guide for Photographers

Thinking of what to get the photographer in your life for the holidays? Or are you a photographer yourself? I put together a few of my favorite amazon items that make perfect gifts or are just nice to have.

THE ESSENTIALS

1.

SD Cards: Because who can have too many memory cards right?! My Sony cameras take 2 SD cards and during busy season the limit of too many does not exist. These are my favorite!

Tip: NEVER format your cards until you deliver the edited session/wedding. Cards are too affordable and the perfect back up.

2.

SD Card Holders: Speaking of memory cards you have to have somewhere to put them right?! When I am caught up or just have an extra amount of clean cards I store them in this durable case to keep them safe. It holds 40 cards (and I have 2 of these!).

3.

Yellow Card Holder: On wedding days I typically fill 12 cards. To help keep track of what are used and what are clear I decided to have 2 color of cases. I start the day off with the yellow case filled with clean cards then as I fill them I put them in the red case which means they are full and do not override.

4.

Red Card Holder: Going off of the yellow card holder, the red case starts empty each wedding and as I fill up cards I place them in the red case which tells me they are used. This not only allows me to switch cards super fast if needed but also speeds up uploading photos at the end of the night since they are all together.

5.

Lens Wipes: These individually wrapped lens wipes are perfect to throw in your bag or pocket before sessions and weddings. Nothing is worse than a dirty lens. They’re also perfect for those of use who wear glasses! Grab a pack here.

6.

Microfiber Cleaning Cloths: Like the lens wipes, microfiber cloths come in handy often. I always use these on humid days if my lens decides to fog up, but they’re also perfect for a dry wipe down of your gear.

7.

Air Blower: Dust Happens. No matter how careful you are dirt and dust will find its way into your camera, lens, viewfinder - you name it. This blower is gentle and effective. Add this to your camera bag!

8.

Fireproof Bag: Better to be safe than sorry is my go to. I keep all used cards and a hard drive with my current sessions/wedding in this bag. If this isn’t part of your camera gear, you need it now!

9.

Electronic Baggies: These sturdy bags are perfect for storing those used memory cards in the fireproof bag. I use a dry erase marker to label each bag with the card contents. Then, once the gallery is delivered, I format those cards and erase the label.

10.

External Hard drive: You wouldn’t believe how many of these I have if I told you. I typically have 3 exact copies of a undelivered gallery drive. I leave one in the fireproof bag, carry one with me or in my car at ALL times and have a 3rd copy elsewhere. Again, better to be safe than sorry. I know a lot of people love and hate certain hard drives, but these have worked great for me!

FOR FUN

11.

Fractals: For that prism look with the ease of holding while shooting. These give off some cool effects. They are my favorite thing to use when wanting some variation to wedding reception photos! My favorite fractals.

Rocketbooks: If you haven’t heard of Rocketbook I am about to change your life. If you’re like me, I LOVE writing stuff down on paper. My phone is amazing but there’s something about physically writing and crossing off to do list amongst any ideas.

You can write in the journal, scan to your phone (perfect for grocery and check list) then erase. I was going through SO much paper and these have changed that. I have a typical lined journal but also have a checklist/daily planner which is my favorite.

15.

Camera Phone Mount: With reels becoming the new thing to do this, phone mount makes BTS so much easier without having to stop shooting. My most used camera phone mount.

16.

Phone Tripod: Another perfect use for reels and BTS.

17.

Over Table Phone Holder: From table top flat lays to desk recordings - this is my go to mount to keep me hands free!

FOR WEDDINGS

18.

MagMod: Two words - LIFE CHANGING. I can remember the last time I used a “normal” diffuser. I was shooting near a river drop off and it popped off and rolled into the water. After that I switched to MagMod, I never looked back. With the magnetic technology no more jumping diffusers and the number of modifiers for it are endless.

19.

Ribbon: From styling to packaging I love this ribbon and how affordable it is! It comes in a variety of colors so make sure you check them all out!

20.

Clear Bubble Umbrella: A rainy day must have. The “bubble” of the umbrella ensures your gear to stay dry as it drops lower than your typical umbrella. These also make for cute rainy day bride and groom shots. Trust me when I say the Totes brand is better than most available. I tried going the cheaper options available and they broke after 1 or 2 uses. Make sure to have this umbrella with you on every wedding day!

As an amazon associate, I will receive a small commission if an order is placed through any links provided in this blog. This doesn’t affect the price of any of the products.
