What happens when a wedding vendor gets married? Well the most epic wedding celebration, of course! We celebrated Cassie from The Allen Farmhaus and her husband David at Mae’s Ridge this past winter and it was the most amazing day.

The Perfect Team
From the moment Cassie started planning, she was putting together a team of vendors that made me so excited about capturing their wedding day. I knew that with the creativity of Blaize from Borrowed & Blue Events and Megan from Reiley + Rose, the day was going to be gorgeous. Every single detail was thoughtfully curated to bring together their modern pastel wedding day.
Capturing the Day at Mae’s Ridge
When going into Cassie and David’s wedding day, I knew that family and organic moments were the most important to them. Throughout the day I kept a close eye on both of them, even when they didn’t know it. It really allowed for them to live in the moment rather than worry about the ‘perfect picture’.
One of my favorite moments captured included when Cassie's grandma came through kitchen unexpectedly and saw Cassie all dolled up for the first time that day. It was the sweetest, unplanned first look and you could just see the love in her grandmas eyes.
A similar moment happened between David and his dad that I was able to capture and it just made me think - had I been off shooting elsewhere or not been looking out for those moments or following either of them around I would've missed it. It’s not always about the perfect posed photo or marking off a long list of images to capture.
Sunset Couples Portraits
There’s nothing quite like a Texas sunset and one of my favorite things is to capture my couples in this moment. But the sunset at Mae’s Ridge - oh my gosh! It made for the dreamiest portraits with these newlyweds.
